A person suspected of being involved in the murder of Igor Kirillov, the head of the Radiation, Chemical, and Biological Defense Forces of the Russian Armed Forces, and his assistant, has been detained.

Axar.az reports that this information was provided by the Russian Investigative Committee.

According to the report, the person involved in the murder of the general and his assistant is a 1995-born citizen of Uzbekistan.

The suspect stated in his testimony that Ukrainian intelligence services had promised him a $100,000 reward and the right to live in a European country for the murder of the general.

"The Uzbek citizen traveled to Moscow on the orders of the Ukrainian side, acquired an explosive device, placed it on a scooter, and left it near the apartment where General Kirillov lived. He rented a car to conduct surveillance and installed a camera. As soon as the general left the building, the explosive device was activated," said Irina Petrenko, a spokesperson for the Investigative Committee.

Irina Vol, a representative of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs, said the suspect was apprehended in the village of Chernoe, Balashikha.

It should be noted that the explosion that occurred yesterday morning in Moscow resulted in the death of General-Lieutenant Igor Kirillov, the commander of the Radiation, Chemical, and Biological Defense Forces of the Russian Armed Forces.
