Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko has not apologized to his Ukrainian counterpart Vladimir Zelensky, because there is no reason to apologize.

Axar.az reports that Natalya Eysmont, press secretary of the Belarusian president, said this while commenting on the news about Lukashenko's apology to Zelensky in the first days of the Russia-Ukraine conflict.

Eysmont noted that Lukashenko and Zelensky spoke on the phone in the first days of the conflict, and the initiative took place thanks to the youngest son of the Belarusian president:

"First of all, in the first days of the conflict, the conversation between the presidents of Belarus and Ukraine took place only as a result of the personal relations of the Belarusian president's youngest son, Mykola, with Zelensky.

Our president, first of all, said that the conflict flared up on the territory of Ukraine, on the territory of Zelensky, and over time he will have to answer more than anyone else for the death of people. Therefore, our president called to sit down at the negotiating table, and this happened: negotiations were held in Belarus, and then in Istanbul."
