Syrian army units have been deployed to the city of Wadi al-Oyun in the southwest of Hama province.
Axar.az informs that this was reported by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Syria’s interim government.
It was stated that several checkpoints will be established to ensure security and stability in the region.
Notably, on March 6, supporters of former President Bashar al-Assad launched an armed uprising in Latakia, attacking security forces and committing killings. Following this, the Syrian army was deployed to the region, taking control of several villages and the city of Jableh.
According to the latest information, clashes are currently taking place in Qardaha, which is considered the hometown of Assad’s supporters.
Roads leading to coastal areas have been closed, and a curfew has been declared in the province.
