Uzbekistan plans to allow citizens of Azerbaijan to enter the country using only their national ID cards.

Axar.az reports Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has issued a decree on the matter.

Similar rules are expected to apply to citizens of Russia and Kazakhstan.

Under the decree, negotiations must begin within three months, and based on the results, proposals should be made to allow citizens of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, and Russia to enter Uzbekistan for up to 30 days using only internal documents or ID cards.
