At the informal summit of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) held in Hungary, a decision was made for Uzbekistan to join the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation.

Axar.az informs, citing Repоrt, the announcement was made by OTS Secretary General Kubanychbek Omuraliev at a joint press conference with Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó.

Omuraliev called the move an important step toward strengthening cultural ties and preserving, promoting, and advancing the rich and diverse heritage of the Eurasian region:

"At the same time, the OTS Council of Foreign Ministers also approved the appointment of the Executive Director of its representation in Budapest. This office has played an important role in enhancing cooperation, coordination, and engagement with our European partners.

Later, the heads of state adopted a statement on Afghanistan, reflecting the Organization of Turkic States’ unified stance and coordinated approach toward the evolving situation in the country. We reaffirm our commitment to contributing to regional peace, stability, and humanitarian support."
