The Director of the Center for Higher Studies of the National Defense University of Italy, Colonel General Stefano Mannino, and the delegation he led, who were on a visit to Azerbaijan, visited the National Defense University (NDU), the War Games Center, the Heydar Aliyev Military Institute, the Jamshid Nakhchivanski Military Lyceum, and the “N” military unit of the Navy.

It was reported that at the first meeting held at the NDU, the Rector of the University, Major General Gunduz Abdulov, expressed his pleasure to see the guests in our country. He emphasized that the successful development of relations between Azerbaijan and Italy in the field of military education is based on mutual trust and confidence.
Colonel General S. Mannino, in turn, expressed his gratitude for the hospitality shown. Stating that the meetings held would be fruitful for the military education of both armies, the guest especially noted that the work done in this direction was useful for the mutual exchange of experience.
Then, the Italian delegation was presented with a briefing on the history of the establishment of the MMU, the education system, the rules for admission to special educational institutions electronically, as well as the goals and tasks ahead. The questions of interest to the guests were answered.

After the meeting, the Italian delegation visited the War Games Center. Here, the guests were provided with necessary information about the activities carried out at the center.
As part of the visit, the guests visited the Heydar Aliyev Military Institute of the MMU and the Jamshid Nakhchivansky Military Lyceum.
During the visit, the guests laid flowers in front of the bust of the National Leader of the Azerbaijani people Heydar Aliyev and the memorial complex built for our martyrs. Then, the guests visited the Heydar Aliyev Museum located in the special educational institutions and got acquainted with the photo corner reflecting the life and political activities of the Great Leader. They were provided with information about the work done by the Great Leader in the field of army building.
The Italian delegation got acquainted with the conditions created for the cadets studying at the Military Lyceum and Institute, learned their opinions, and gave their suggestions and recommendations. The military orchestra performed Italian musical compositions for the guests, and the Italian delegation watched exemplary performances by the cadets.
Later, during the meeting held in the briefing hall, mutual exchange of views was held on topics of interest to the parties.
The Italian delegation visited the “N” military unit of the Navy (HDQ) as part of the visit.
Welcoming the guests, the commander of the HDQ, 1st rank captain Shahin Mammadov, noted the special place of the Italian Republic in Azerbaijan’s cooperation with countries with the world’s leading naval forces.
Then, the guests were given a briefing on the history of the military unit, its combat path, and its upcoming goals. The questions of interest to the guests were answered. A wide exchange of views was held at the meeting on issues of mutual interest.
During the visit, the guests were visually shown some of the military equipment in the armament of the military unit and were provided with detailed information about their tactical and technical characteristics.
The guests also watched exemplary performances by naval special forces at the training ground.
