European countries have condemned the shooting of diplomats in Jenin by Israel.

Axar.az reports citing foreign media.

Italy and Spain, both EU countries, have condemned the shooting by Israeli soldiers at EU diplomats visiting the city of Jenin on the West Bank, which is under Israeli control.

The EU's High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas, called on Israel to investigate the incident and hold those responsible "accountable."

"Any threat to diplomats' lives is unacceptable," he said.

An Israeli military official stated that the diplomats were shot at with "warning fire" because they had "deviated from the designated route." No injuries were reported as a result of the incident.
