Politicians drank cognac while working on the text of the Belavezha accords. But there was no snack on the table.

Axar.az reports the statement came from former chairman of the Supreme Soviet of the Belarusian SSR Stanislav Shushkechiv.

"There was a bottle of cognac on our table, and glass was placed in front of everyone. We did not drink more than 100 grams, it was still at the bottom of the glass. There was no food, it would hinder us, "the politician said.
