Germany’s share in Azerbaijan trade stands at 3.14%

Trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Germany amounted to $295.2 million in January–March this year.

Axar.az reports, citing data from the State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan, this figure is $237.8 million, or 1.8 times, lower compared to the same period in 2025.

During the reporting period, Germany’s share in Azerbaijan’s total foreign trade turnover stood at 3.14%.

Exports from Azerbaijan to Germany totaled $142.1 million, marking a decrease of $146.1 million, or nearly twofold, compared to the same period last year.

Imports from Germany amounted to $153.1 million, down by $91.7 million, or 1.6 times, year-on-year.

Overall, Azerbaijan’s total foreign trade turnover reached $9.407 billion in the first quarter, which is $2.642 billion, or 21.9%, lower than in the corresponding period of 2025.

Exports accounted for $5.402 billion, while imports stood at $4.005 billion. Over the past year, exports declined by $984 million (15.4%), while imports dropped by $1.658 billion (29.3%).

As a result, a positive trade balance of $1.398 billion was recorded, which is $675 million, or 1.9 times, higher than a year earlier.
