Azerbaijan, US sign critical minerals agreement

The signing of a framework agreement on cooperation in the field of critical minerals between Azerbaijan and the United States lays the foundation for a new stage in economic relations.

Axar.az reports that Economy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov made the remarks at a press conference dedicated to the 1st Azerbaijan–US Economic Dialogue.

The minister noted that the document was signed within the framework of “Baku Energy Week” with the participation of President Ilham Aliyev.

“Yesterday, in the presence of President Ilham Aliyev, we signed a framework agreement on cooperation in the field of critical minerals. This is another opportunity to thank our colleagues from both the US and Azerbaijan who contributed to this process,” Jabbarov said.

According to him, the agreement opens a new page in economic cooperation and will contribute to the development of a sector that is of great importance for the modern economy.

“A new chapter is opening in our economic cooperation. This cooperation is not only promising but also of significant importance in terms of the needs and productivity of the modern economy,” the minister emphasized.

Jabbarov also noted that Azerbaijan is interested in cooperation with representatives of the US private sector.

“We look forward to cooperation with US companies specialized in this field, and we are ready to benefit from their knowledge and experience, as well as from the opportunities shaped by the vision of the Trump administration,” the economy minister added.
