In China, the human-to-human transmission of the tick-borne virus has led to a new and deadly epidemic.

Axar.az reports that, this was reported by the Global Times.

According to the report, 60 people have been infected with the virus in two different provinces of China so far, and 7 of them have died.

A Chinese woman infected with the virus told the newspaper that the symptoms of the disease were cough and high fever, and low levels of leukocytes and platelets in the blood.

The SFTS virus, first detected in 2011, is transmitted from ticks to humans.
