Finnish scientists may complete the development of a new vaccine against coronavirus by the end of this year.

Axar.az reports that this was stated by Professor of the University of Helsinki, one of the authors of the project Kalle Saxela.

He noted that this vaccine will be in the form of a nasal spray, unlike others:

"The fact that this vaccine is in the form of a spray is due to the fact that the virus enters the human body mainly through the respiratory tract. The vaccine will not only provide protection for the mucous membrane, but also strengthen the body's overall immunity.

Animal testing for the vaccine is nearing completion. The first phase of testing the drug on volunteers is scheduled to begin in the summer. "
