World first: Human eye transplanted

New York surgeons performed the first human eye transplant operation. Although the patient's vision did not return, this achievement is considered a breakthrough.

Axar.az informs that this was reported by Reuters.

Six months after surgery in a partial face transplant, the transplanted eye showed important signs of health, including well-functioning blood vessels and a promising retina, according to the report:

"Our eye transplant itself is a huge step forward that has been envisioned for centuries but never realized."
