The monkeypox virus was also detected in Uganda

Monkeypox virus (Mpox) infection has been reported for the first time in Uganda.

Axar.az informs that AFP reported on this.

According to information, cases of infection were detected in the cities of Kasese and Mpondwe.

Uganda's Ministry of Health has determined that the infection came from a neighboring country, the Democratic Republic of Congo. Two patients have already been infected with the virus. Nine people were taken under medical supervision because they were in contact with infected people.
