Azerbaijan open to hosting 3+3 talks despite Armenia’s refusal

We believe there is no reason for the Armenian side to reject the proposal voiced by Azerbaijan in 2024. Our proposal remains in force.

Axar.az reports that Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov said this during a joint press conference with his Iranian counterpart, Abbas Araghchi.

“When the 3+3 format was established, it was noted that this initiative was put forward by the President of Azerbaijan, and three meetings have been held within this framework. During the meeting held in October 2024, it was proposed that the next meeting be organized with Azerbaijan as the host, and it was stated that, should Armenia agree, it could also be held there. Unfortunately, no such agreement was reached, and the Armenian side did not accept it. At present, the environment is different. The organization of these meetings is now being discussed through other channels,” he said.

He added that Azerbaijan is ready to host this meeting.
