Pashinyan thanks Aliyev for opening transit

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan expressed gratitude to Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev for the decision to open transit cargo to Armenia through Azerbaijan and create conditions for the start of bilateral trade.

Axar.az reports that Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said this at a meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council in St. Petersburg.

Pashinyan stressed the importance of constructive dialogue with the member states and observers of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council to strengthen regional economic integration. He noted that the smooth functioning of the internal market, the removal of barriers, digitalization, and simplification of regulatory procedures are priorities for Armenia.

The Prime Minister paid special attention to the development of trade and logistics cooperation based on equality, sovereignty, and national jurisdiction, and assessed this decision as one of the first major achievements in establishing peace and stability in the region. He added that the ongoing constructive changes create new opportunities for all countries in the region, contribute to stronger economic stability, and expand regional ties.
