Turkiye is ready to participate in all initiatives aimed at ensuring Lebanon’s sovereignty following the withdrawal of UN peacekeeping forces from the country. Lebanon is among the countries that will benefit most from the atmosphere of peace, stability, and cooperation that Ankara seeks to establish in the Middle East.

Axar.az reports that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan made the remarks at a joint press conference with Lebanese President Joseph Aoun.

Erdogan stressed that Ankara would continue providing humanitarian and technical assistance to Beirut and would support efforts to strengthen the Lebanese Armed Forces.

He recalled that more than 4,300 Lebanese people had been killed during the latest escalation in the region.

“Since the beginning of the attacks, Turkiye has been one of the countries that has responded most strongly. We have closely followed diplomatic initiatives aimed at ending the attacks and occupation,” Erdogan said.
