Macron: Europe will not abandon Ukraine

French President Emmanuel Macron said Europe "will not abandon Ukraine" in its "war of resistance against Russia.

Axar.az reports, citing French media, that speaking at an EU summit in Brussels, Macron said "the role of Europeans is to stand firm" at a time when "some were wavering".

Macron stressed that Europe must maintain a firm stance, as the issue concerns both Europe’s security and the defense of international principles.

He noted that Russia’s actions were obstructing Ukrainian grain exports.

Macron also noted that Ukraine has achieved one of its largest harvests on record. This produce helps ensure food supplies for many developing and poorer countries. I am referring to Egypt and many other African countries.

"Today, Russia has deliberately decided to condemn these countries to hunger and impoverish Ukraine. We will respond, but such actions are criminal in every respect," he noted.

Macron emphasized that supporting Ukraine is not merely a gesture of goodwill but also a way for Europe to defend its own interests.
