Iran offers 7-day plan to reopen Strait of Hormuz

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said Iran has conveyed a seven-day plan through Qatar that could lead to the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz and the restoration of normal maritime traffic.

Axar.az reports, citing Iranian media, that Araghchi made the remarks while addressing the 52nd session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Baghdad on October 17.

“Through Qatar, we have conveyed a concrete seven-day plan: if the necessary conditions are met, the Strait can be reopened and normal maritime passage restored within seven days. The choice now rests with the United States,” he said.
