Khamenei's Zangezur statement is a message to Nikol

The statement of the supreme religious leader of Iran that Zangezur Corridor will harm Armenia was addressed to the West and Nikol Pashinyan.

Axar.az reports that these words were said by Armenian politician and political scientist Eduard Sharmazanov.

He said that Iran has made the following statements several times:

"Iran diplomatically said that Armenia is wrongly playing with the West's card and it is not profitable for Tehran. The US has directly stated that it wants to build a Middle Corridor from Central Asia to Europe, bypassing Russia and China. Pashinyan is just a tool in this project, but two of the three regional players are against it, because such a project will only benefit the West.

Iran and Russia are proposing a North-South project as an alternative. At the same time, Armenia is no longer solving anything in this matter thanks to Nikol Pashinyan. This is decided by regional forces and the West. Moreover, as a result of the short-sighted policy of the Armenian authorities, all regional communications may ultimately bypass Armenia."

According to him, if the Turkish-Azerbaijani tandem tries to open a corridor through Armenia by force, Iran and Russia will not watch the process calmly.
