Iran’s Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Mojtaba Damirchilou, has expressed gratitude to President Ilham Aliyev for his position during recent events.

Axar.az reports that the ambassador made the remarks during a meeting with the Chairman of the State Committee on Affairs with Religious Associations Ramin Mammadov.

He emphasized the existence of historical, religious, and cultural ties between Iran and Azerbaijan, noting the importance of further strengthening these relations.

Demirchilou also highlighted the special significance of humanitarian assistance and moral support provided by the Azerbaijani state, stating that it is highly valued.

Ramin Mammadov, in turn, stressed the state’s special attention to the protection and development of moral values in the country, noting that preserving religious and cultural heritage, passing national values to future generations, and strengthening traditions of tolerance are among the priority directions of state policy in Azerbaijan.

The meeting discussed issues of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Iran in the religious sphere, prospects for the development of mutual relations, and the importance of maintaining religious stability in the region.

Views were also exchanged on opportunities for experience-sharing in religious and academic research.
