The WUF13 Festival has kicked off in Lankaran, aimed at raising public awareness about the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) scheduled to take place in Baku.

Axar.az reports that an information session was held earlier in the day at Lankaran State University, bringing together faculty members and students of the university, as well as its affiliated Social and Agrarian-Technological College.

Addressing the event, Lankaran district`s officials provided detailed information about WUF13, highlighting its significance for the country and key discussion topics. They noted that Lankaran blends historical heritage with modern development and has seen rapid urban growth, with new housing, restoration projects, and expanding urban infrastructure.

Eldar Rasulov, Media Relations Manager at the WUF13 Azerbaijan Operations Company, invited youth to attend WUF13 in Baku on May 17–22.

The festival will continue in the evening with open-air programs featuring interactive activities, discussions, and presentations on sustainable and inclusive urban development, innovative solutions, and future cities, along with detailed insights into WUF13’s main themes.
