U.S. President Donald Trump has nominated Alexander Alden of Virginia to serve as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States of America to the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Axar.az informs, citing White House, Trump has sent the nomination of Alden, who represents the state of Virginia, to the Senate for approval as head of the U.S. diplomatic mission in Baku.
Currently, Amy Carlson serves as Chargé d’Affaires at the U.S. Embassy in Azerbaijan. The post was previously held by Mark Libby.
