Baku confirms casualties in drone incident

Two foreign cargo ships carrying a total of 25 Azerbaijani citizens were hit in drone attacks overnight.

Axar.az informs according to that Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, the vessels do not belong to the Azerbaijani state.

Russia has reported that, as a result of the attack, five Azerbaijani citizens were killed and three others were injured. The injured have been hospitalized in the city of Yeysk.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is currently coordinating with relevant state bodies, Azerbaijan’s diplomatic missions, and the competent authorities of the countries involved. Several staff members from Azerbaijan’s embassy in Russia have been sent to the scene. Efforts are underway to clarify the situation, ensure the return of the citizens, and provide necessary consular support.

The ministry expressed its condolences to the families of those killed and wished the injured a speedy recovery.
