Azerbaijani president’s aide on economic reforms Natig Aliyev met with France’s Ambassador to Azerbaijan Aurelia Bouchez on Feb.9.
The sides discussed the current economic situation in Azerbaijan, measures taken in Azerbaijan in connection with the economic reforms, as well as economic ties between Azerbaijan and France and the possibility of involving a greater number of French investors in Azerbaijan.
Noting the significance of measures taken towards the implementation of the concept of economic reforms approved by the Azerbaijani president, Amirov said that the establishment of boards of appeal under the presidential decree dated 3 February 2016 will ensure transparency and objectivity in the field of business and entrepreneurship, protection of the rights of businessmen, including local and foreign investors and create necessary conditions for economic diversification and attraction of large investments.
The presidential aide also mentioned the importance of economic ties with France and stressed that large-scale cooperation will be mutually beneficial for both countries.
Ambassador Aurelia Bouchez, in turn, said Azerbaijan has a great potential to diversify and develop its economy, expressing her confidence that success will be achieved in this direction as a result of measures taken.
France supports the ongoing economic reforms in Azerbaijan and stands ready to any cooperation with Azerbaijan in this sphere, the ambassador said.
She also noted that France is interested in greater involvement of its investors in entrepreneurial activity in Azerbaijan and expansion and improvement of the work of the France-Azerbaijan Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Azerbaijan.
