Sybiha condemns Black Sea attack that injured Azerbaijanis

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha has called on international partners to increase pressure on Russia following an attack on commercial vessels near Bulgaria’s territorial waters that injured Azerbaijani and Ukrainian citizens.

Axar.az reports that Sybiha made the remarks in a post on X, accusing Moscow of deliberately disregarding civilian lives and maritime security in the Black Sea.

“We urge our partners to step up pressure on Russia, strengthen sanctions, and take decisive action to hold it accountable and protect freedom of navigation,” he wrote.

Sybiha also stressed the Black Sea’s importance to global food security, accusing Russia of using attacks in the region to weaponize hunger and hold the world hostage.

“This must be met with strength,” he added.
