Let me convey my congratulations on your re-election as the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1995, relations between the Republic of Malta and the Republic of Azerbaijan have developed at a high level. Our countries have strengthened mutual respect and friendly friendship and developed close cooperation and deep understanding. I am sure that for the common interest of the peoples of our countries, the long-standing relations between Malta and Azerbaijan can be strengthened by exploring new areas for further strengthening of bilateral cooperation.

I also appreciate the fruitful development of our countries' relations at the multilateral level, especially through our common membership in the United Nations. In addition, the Republic of Malta constantly supports the close and strategic partnership between the European Union and the Republic of Azerbaijan within the framework of regional dialogue such as the Eastern Partnership (EaP).
