On April 18, 2024, the Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Kingdom of Sweden, Zaur Ahmadov, sent a letter of invitation to the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change - COP29, addressed by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, to the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Sweden, Ulf Kristersson. They were submitted to his office.

Axar.az reports that during the meeting with Deputy Director Elinor Blomberg, the other party was informed about the preparations for COP29 in Azerbaijan, and the large-scale projects implemented in the field of transition to green energy, as well as Sweden-Azerbaijan relations were reviewed.
