Russia: This mission operates against Azerbaijan

The EU mission is increasingly engaged in overtly provocative activities against Armenia's neighbors Russia, Azerbaijan and Iran.

Axar.az reports that this was said by Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin.

"The mission is clearly provocative, it is fully engaged in anti-Russian propaganda: it instills false ideas in the Armenian society that the EU is a "source of security and prosperity" for Yerevan, and it is increasingly anti-Azerbaijani and anti-Iranian. If we are talking about the tasks of ensuring long-term regional security, stability and socio-economic development, then the militarization of the region by the Westerners and the plans to expand the military-political influence of the EU and NATO there are completely contrary to this," he said.

The diplomat noted that Russia is in favor of the complete opening of economic and transport communications in the South Caucasus:

"This is exactly what the tripartite working group established in 2021 under the joint chairmanship of the deputy prime ministers of the three countries by the decision of the leaders of Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia is doing. Under the pressure of Western countries, Yerevan decided to freeze tripartite cooperation on this road as well."
