The President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, has signed a decree on granting higher military ranks to the military personnel of the Ministry of Defense.

Axar.az reports that the decree states:

"Based on paragraph 24 of Article 109 of the Constitution of the Republic of Azerbaijan, I decide:

The following military personnel of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Azerbaijan should be given higher military ranks:

"Lieutenant General" military rank

Major-General Islamzadeh Namiq Sarafruz oghlu

"major general" military rank

Colonel Alovsadov Hasan Ali oghlu

Colonel Guluyev Vilayat Barkhuda oghlu".
