On September 2, the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Colonel-General Zakir Hasanov, met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Italy to our country, Luca di Gianfrancesco.

Axar.az was informed about this by the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan.

The Minister of Defense said that the bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Italy have a special character in the military field as well as in other fields, and this will contribute to the development of the armies of both countries.

During 2024-2025, it was noted that some of the 31 measures planned in the military field between Azerbaijan and Italy have been implemented.

Expressing his satisfaction with the current state of cooperation in the military field, L. Gianfrancesco emphasized that mutual visits between our countries are of great importance.

At the meeting, which was attended by the Italian military attaché in Azerbaijan, Captain Gianfranco Vizzi, 1st rank, the parties discussed the prospects for the development of cooperation in the military field and exchanged wide views on regional security and several issues of mutual interest.
