There is a problem at the Armenia-Georgia border crossing. Trucks from Armenia are not being allowed into Georgia.
Axar.az reports that the State Revenue Committee of Armenia has published information about this.
It is reported that the customs services have temporarily suspended the entry of Armenian trucks into Georgia. Currently, more than a thousand trucks and passenger cars are parked on both sides.
The decision was made taking into account the recent accumulation of vehicles at Georgian checkpoints. After the problem is resolved on the Georgian side, the passage of vehicles is regulated, and the crossing will be opened.
Meanwhile, the Armenian side suggests that vehicles queue on the territory of their country. The Armenian Ministry of Economy reports that Yerevan has not yet received an explanation from Tbilisi regarding the delays at the border during the transit of Armenian cognac to Russia. Several protests have already been held in front of the Georgian embassy in Yerevan.
It should be noted that on June 6, the Georgian Minister of Agriculture was supposed to visit Armenia, but the visit was canceled at the last minute.
According to some reports, Armenian drivers buy Georgian cognac at a cheap price when returning to Armenia. They then have this cognac packaged in Armenia and sent to the Russian market under the name Armenian cognac.
