The strongest response from Iran to Israel’s attack could be a limited-scale nuclear strike on targets within the territory of the Jewish state.

Axar.az reports that this was stated to RIA Novosti by Fakhri Erenel, Director of the Center for Security and Defense Strategy Research and Implementation and a professor at Istanbul’s Istinye University.

According to him, it is not out of the question that Iran possesses a small nuclear warhead:

“Iran could use this to strike Israeli nuclear facilities, as they have recently obtained information about the locations of relevant structures.

In that case, Israel might also use nuclear weapons — this would be the most dangerous scenario.”
