Axar.az, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has sent a congratulatory letter to His Majesty King Charles III of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland on the occasion of the country’s national holiday — His Majesty’s Birthday.

The letter reads:

Your Majesty,

On the occasion of the National Day of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland — Your Birthday — I am pleased to extend my sincerest congratulations and best wishes to you and, through you, to your entire people on behalf of myself and the people of Azerbaijan.

We attach special importance to the development of relations between Azerbaijan and the United Kingdom, which are based on friendly traditions. We are pleased with the expansion of our bilateral ties and mutually beneficial cooperation in various fields. The active involvement of British companies — one of our key economic partners — in Azerbaijan’s economy is a source of satisfaction.

Our long-standing cooperation in the energy sector is of a strategic nature. I also take satisfaction in noting that issues such as the development of renewable energy, transition to green energy, and decarbonization now hold a prominent place on the Azerbaijan–United Kingdom bilateral agenda.

I am confident that, by leveraging the great potential of our collaboration, we will continue to make joint efforts to further deepen the friendship and cooperation between our countries.
