Iran fears the Zangezur Corridor because it believes it is part of the Greater Turan project.

Axar.az informs that this was reported by the Armenian newspaper Past.

"Iran openly states that it is against the Zangezur Corridor because it believes it is part of the Greater Turan project. Tehran also fears that with the opening of the corridor, 'Iranian Azerbaijan' (Southern Azerbaijan) may separate from Iran and join the Turkiye-Azerbaijan tandem," the source states.

As for Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s position on the matter, the publication claims that he and his team are determined to implement their plans at any cost.

The newspaper also notes that Pashinyan's broader goal is to distance Armenia from both Russia and Iran.
