Germany urges Iran to reopen Strait of Hormuz

German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul, during a phone call with his Iranian counterpart Seyyed Abbas Araghchi, called for the immediate reopening of the Strait of Hormuz and for Iran to abandon nuclear weapons.

Axar.az reports that the minister emphasized that Germany supports a negotiated solution.

“Germany supports a negotiated solution. As a close ally of the United States, we share the same goal: Iran must fully and verifiably renounce nuclear weapons and immediately reopen the Strait of Hormuz, as also demanded by U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio," Wadephul wrote on X.
