Man United holds off Liverpool comeback to win 3–2

Manchester United defeated Liverpool 3–2 at home in Round 35 of the English Premier League, securing a return to next season’s UEFA Champions League after a two-year absence.

Axar.az reports that the match took place at Old Trafford.

United made a strong start, with Matheus Cunha scoring in the 6th minute and Benjamin sesko doubling the lead in the 14th minute. Liverpool responded in the second half, with Dominik Szoboszlai (47th minute) and Cody Gakpo (56th) bringing the visitors level after United errors.

However, Kobbie Mainoo scored the winning goal in the 77th minute with a strike from the edge of the box, sealing the victory for the home side.

Manchester United now have 64 points and remain in third place in the league table. Liverpool are fourth with 58 points, while Aston Villa are level on points in the race for European qualification.
