The plane that brought the first group of Azerbaijani pilgrims from Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, to Baku made an emergency landing in the Iranian city of Rasht.

It was reported that the aircraft crew made an emergency decision during the flight to land the plane in the Iranian city of Rasht due to the deterioration of the health of one of the pilgrims.

Among the passengers on the AZAL plane that brought the first group of Azerbaijani pilgrims from Jeddah to Baku was a person with a physical disability. The pilgrim in question, Tural Mehdiyev, was in a wheelchair.
During the flight, the health of the physically disabled pilgrim who was in a wheelchair suddenly deteriorated. For this reason, the aircraft crew made an emergency decision to land the plane in the nearest airport, the Iranian city of Rasht. Tural Mehdiyev and his brother Khayal Mehdiyev were taken to a hospital in Iran by ambulance.
Relevant protocols have been signed. Preparations are underway for the flight to take place.
