Ukraine plans to attract 1.7 billion pounds ($2.3 billion) from the UK for additional weapons purchases.

Axar.az informs that Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said this on social networks.

"Ukraine will attract about 1.7 billion pounds from the UK for additional weapons purchases. The relevant decision was made at a government meeting. We plan to purchase Rapid Ranger anti-aircraft missile systems, as well as Marlet light multi-purpose missiles, with these funds. This will significantly strengthen our air defense," he noted.

In early June, the UK announced record assistance in the supply of drones. We are talking about 350 million pounds ($472.5 million), which will allow Ukraine to receive 100,000 unmanned aerial vehicles this year.

The UK will continue to allocate 3 billion pounds ($4 billion) annually for military assistance to Kyiv as part of its new defense strategy.
