Lithuania is one of the last countries, alongside France, the Netherlands, and Canada, that can offer "advice" to Azerbaijan.

Axar.az reports that this was stated in a declaration made by the West Azerbaijan Community in response to a number of anti-Azerbaijani remarks by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania, Gabrielius Landsbergis, during a session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe.

It was emphasized that Lithuania's systematic anti-Azerbaijani activities, especially after the Patriotic War, are repugnant:

Foolish and arrogant statements such as “I will make statements regarding abuses in Azerbaijan when I deem it necessary” portray the Lithuanian minister and his country in a ridiculous light. Unfortunately, today in the West, there are numerous unserious, dilettante politicians infected with the disease of Azerbaijanophobia, who do not understand the essence of their words, and whose ambitions are inversely proportional to their capabilities, far removed from statehood thinking.

Lithuania, which systematically and massively violates the rights of national minorities on its territory and causes statelessness, has no right to teach Azerbaijan anything about human rights. Lithuania should learn from Azerbaijan how different nations can live in harmony. Together with France, the Netherlands, and Canada, Lithuania is one of the last countries that can give Azerbaijan "advice and counsel."

The statement emphasizes that the Lithuanian minister, who yearns for the glory of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, should transition from the "mythical Armenia" expressed by the Armenian officials they recognized first to "real Lithuania."

G.Landsbergis's insistence that the right of return applies only to ethnic Armenians is an indicator of discrimination and bias against more than one million Azerbaijanis, including those from Western Azerbaijan, who have suffered ethnic cleansing, reflecting his crusader mentality.

Regarding the issue of prohibiting the entry of a handful of racist and corrupt members of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe into Azerbaijan, it is important to emphasize that imposing such a ban is entirely within Azerbaijan's rights as a sovereign state. The Lithuanian minister's statements on this matter are unnecessary. This step serves to expose ethnic and religious discrimination against Azerbaijan and its people, as well as to promote human rights," the Community's statement noted.
