The First Vice-President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva and her family members visited the Thalassemia Center on October 31.
Axar.az reports that Health Minister Teymur Musayev informed the First Vice President and his family members about the conditions created in the Center.
Mehriban Aliyeva visited the transplantology department of the medical institution, the newly opened resuscitation department and the inpatient department for adults, where she talked with children receiving treatment and medical staff, and was interested in the course of the treatment process.
The first vice-president was informed that the Thalassemia Center plays an important role in the treatment of those affected by this disease, but also provides great moral support to patients and their families.
Mehriban Aliyeva said that the Heydar Aliyev Foundation always attaches importance to the activities of the Center and to healthcare in general.
It should be noted that the works carried out in the medical institution, the reforms carried out, and the health of the patients treated here are constantly in the spotlight by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation headed by Mehriban Aliyeva. The measures taken to improve the medical care provided to patients in the Thalassemia Center, built within the framework of the Foundation's "Life without Thalassemia" program, and to strengthen the material and technical base of the Center, play an important role in the prevention of thalassemia.
It should be recalled that the Thalassemia Center, which was put into use in 2009, is responsible for the creation of a specialized medical center and blood bank in Azerbaijan, the development of voluntary donor service for providing safe and quality blood to children suffering from thalassemia, the education of the population in order to prevent the spread of thalassemia, and a fight against thalassemia. serves to expand cooperation with a number of countries.
