Charles Michel to Baku: Let's take action

Humanity has faced such a climate crisis for the first time. Humanity is responsible for this crisis. Some associations are certainly more responsible than others.

Axar.az reports that the President of the Council of the European Union, Charles Michel, said these words during his speech at the COP29 Leaders' Summit.

S. Michel emphasized that the destructive consequences of climate change are being observed more and more in the world.

According to him, the basis of the implementation of the Paris Agreement should be the principle of cooperation:

"We must show courage and solidarity. You can count on the EU to provide $31 billion annually in financial commitments. We call on all our colleagues, including the G7 countries and emerging economies, to follow our example."

He also emphasized that the EU supports a multi-level approach in the fight against climate change. S. Michel called to mobilize international trade and development banks to achieve the set goals:

"Despite pessimistic forecasts, we signed the Pact for the Future in New York a few weeks ago. I hope that this Conference of the Parties will be a conference of trust, tolerance and transition from words to action.
