Khojavand tanker back in service

The tanker “Khojavand” of “Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping” CJSC (ASCO), one of the AZCON Holding companies, was put back into operation after major repairs.

Axar.az informs that ASCO informed that as part of the repairs, the tanker’s underwater and surface parts and decks were cleaned and painted.

The steering gear, main and auxiliary engines, pumps, and boilers were fully inspected, and the necessary parts were repaired. In addition, hull welding, pipe installation, electrical installation, automation, and insulation works were carried out on the tanker. Lifting devices, as well as rescue and fire-fighting equipment, were also repaired.

The communication and electro-radio navigation systems of the “Khojavand” ship were also repaired, and faulty spare parts were replaced with new ones. The ship was equipped with modern NAVTEX equipment, electronic map (ECDIS), radar station, magnetic compass, gyrocompass, and speedometer Lag equipment.

In addition, the crew’s living quarters, sanitary facilities, and dining room were renovated. After the repair, the tanker successfully passed sea trials and made its first trip to the Turkmenbashi port of Turkmenistan.

For information, the Khojavand ship, which is 141.9 meters long and 16.84 meters wide, has a carrying capacity of 8 thousand tons.
