Ukrainian Defence Minister Mykhailo Fedorov has said Kyiv already has missiles with a range similar to that of German-made Taurus missiles.

Axar.az reports, citing Ukrainska Pravda, that Fedorov made the statement during a briefing with his German counterpart Boris Pistorius in Kyiv on 11 May.

"As regards Taurus, of course, we already have missiles that operate at a similar distance and even longer. But there can never be too few such strike capabilities," he said.

Fedorov added that Ukraine is always open to having more strike capabilities.

"In fact, today we are already gaining a certain independence in this area. We have all seen strikes on Russia at a distance of 1,500 km. So Ukraine is doing its homework well," he stated.
