Iran's Foreign Ministry reacts to U.S. airstrikes

Iran's Foreign Ministry has condemned the U.S. airstrikes carried out this evening on coastal surveillance facilities in the country's south, describing them as a violation of the UN Charter and the memorandum on ending the war signed on June 18.

Axar.az reports, citing APА, the ministry also said that Israel's simultaneous attacks on Lebanon constituted a violation of the same agreement.

The statement stressed that Iran is protecting its sovereignty and security based on its legitimate right to self-defense, and that the strikes carried out by the Iranian Armed Forces against targets linked to U.S. forces were conducted within this framework. It also stated that the United States and the parties cooperating with it bear responsibility for the consequences of these events.

Iran's Foreign Ministry called on the countries located along the southern coast of the Persian Gulf not to allow their territory and infrastructure to be used against Iran. The ministry also called on the United Nations, the UN Security Council, and other international organizations to take action against what it described as U.S. violations of international law.
