Hezbollah rejects Israel-Lebanon framework agreement

Hezbollah lawmaker Hassan Fadlallah has rejected the framework agreement signed by Israel and Lebanon in Washington, saying the Lebanese government lacks the legitimacy to implement it.

Axar.az reports, speaking to Al Mayadeen on Thursday, Fadlallah called on the Lebanese authorities to "withdraw from the direct negotiation path" and rescind "all decisions taken against the Lebanese people" related to the agreement.

"This administration will not be able to enforce the agreement signed in Washington unless it resorts, with U.S. support, to a civil war," he said.

Fadlallah also dismissed Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's announcement of the deal, saying: "Do not rush to deliver good news to your people. You have reached an agreement with one who possesses nothing."

He vowed Hezbollah would oppose implementation of the agreement, adding, "Without the resistance, nothing will pass."
