Wildfire breaks out near Mount Ai-Petri in Crimea

A wildfire has broken out at the foot of Mount Ai-Petri in the Yalta area on Crimea's southern coast.

Axar.az reports that the fire has spread across 3.2 hectares.

A total of 98 personnel and 24 units of equipment have been deployed to contain the blaze. Firefighters and rescuers from Russia's Emergency Situations Ministry, staff from the Alushta forestry and hunting service, mountain rescuers from the Crimea-Spas unit, representatives of the Zapovedny Krym (Protected Crimea) enterprise, and volunteers are involved in the firefighting operation.

It should be noted that a special fire safety regime has been in effect in the region since June 24. The restrictions prohibit lighting campfires or using open flames in forests and adjacent areas, including the burning of dry vegetation and household waste.
