The discharge of waste from Armenia’s mining industry into the Araz River and its negative impact on the river's ecological condition is causing concern.

Axar.az reports that this was stated by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev during a meeting with Iran's Vice President and Head of the Environmental Protection Organization, Ms. Shina Ansari.

The meeting also touched upon the ecological issues of the Caspian Sea, particularly the current decrease in water levels, emphasizing the importance of cooperation between bordering countries in this regard.
