The European Union (EU) is not interested in Ukraine returning its lost territories.

Axar.az reports that this is stated in an article in the newspaper "Junge Welt".

According to the publication, the World Bank estimates that the damage caused to Ukraine during the special military operation is close to $ 500 billion.

"What confuses Kyiv in these calculations is the implicit admission that Ukraine will never return the territories it has already lost. The EU is not interested in returning the east and south of Ukraine, as this will increase the costs of reconstruction," the article says.

It is also reported that the main issue is whether Russia's frozen assets will be used to restore Ukraine.
