Results of AZAL crash investigation to be released next week

The preliminary results of the investigation into the AZAL plane crash near Aktau will be revealed next week.

Axar.az reports that this was stated by Kazakhstan's Deputy Prime Minister, Kanat Bozumbayev.

"The black boxes of the AZAL flight that crashed near Aktau have been fully deciphered in Brazil and returned to Kazakhstan," Bozumbayev said.

It should be noted that on December 25, an AZAL plane operating the Baku-Grozny flight was shot down by Russia's air defense systems over Grozny's airspace and sustained serious damage. Since the plane was not allowed to land, it diverted to Aktau but crashed near Aktau airport. As a result of the crash, 38 out of the 67 people onboard were killed, and 29 survived.
